Merry Christmas From Aspiring Blogger!

Christmas 2012 Palm Beach

My view for the next few days – and a high of 79 degrees on Christmas!

For anyone who celebrates Christmas, I want to say Merry Christmas! To everyone else – Happy Chanukah / Kwanzaa / Solstice / Holidays! It’s not important to me whether or not you celebrate a certain holiday or if you give gifts to one another. I just hope that during this time of year everyone is able to spend some time with family and get a little relaxing done.

Location

I am location independent for the next few days – I’m writing to you from West Palm Beach, Florida – about 1250 miles from my home in Texas. We drove here in just over a day (driving 1100+ miles in one day!) but it has been fun and (mostly) relaxing ever since! We’re spending the next few days with 25+ members of my wife’s family and 3 of mine before heading to Disney/Universal Studios and then back home to Texas. I think I’m going to need a vacation to recover from this vacation!

Budget

In a very uncharacteristic move, I haven’t done a budget for this trip!!! We’ve already spent $300 for a dog sitter, and I know we’ll spend a LOT on gas, but I haven’t even thought about all of the other costs. And at this point – I’m not going to! We’ve done pretty damn well this year and if we spend an extra hundred dollars or so, I’m not going to be too concerned. This is time for both my wife and I to relax, and we are going to take advantage of that! We’ve done a great job working towards financial independence during this year that a little splurge during these next few days won’t hurt us!

Goals

I’ve started to think about my goals for the year – personal and professional – and haven’t done a great job so far. But I hope to do some more work on those and share them with all of you in the new year so you can help hold me to them! If you haven’t started working on your goals, I hope you take some time to at least begin the thought process. They don’t have to be perfect – but it’s hard to know if you have achieved something if you never had a goal!

That’s all I’ve got for now, I hope everyone has a great holiday and is able to relax and take some time off – it will definitely help you be more content! See you all soon.
